In preparation for the sleepover, colonies could ask the cub and/or scout section to support them and help to provide the appropriate equipment. Below is a brief list of the essential items needed:
- Tents - Icelandic (which could sleep approx. 8 young people) or Hike tent (dome, force 10, pop-up)
- Dining shelter
- Cooking equipment - groups will have to provide their own dinner...gas stove, pots, pans, bowls, plates, cups, cutlery etc.
- Water container
- Lanterns - gas/battery/tilly
- First aid kit
- Individual equipment - sleeping bag, rollmat, pillow, clothes, wash bag, teddy etc.
We had a fantastic time at Armagh Planetarium on Saturday 22nd October with 500 beavers from 37 Beaver Colonies from all over Northern Ireland. Beavers had fun learning about our fascinating universe through a digital theatre show and hearing stories about the International Space Station, especially how an astronaut goes to the toilet! They also completed a trail in the Astropark, played games, did some arts and crafts and finally blasted rockets into space. It was a fun-filled day enjoyed by all who attended.
We do have some lost property, which is available from the Scout office.
