Woodbadge and GCA Training

May I encourage you all - Leaders and Managers to avail of the support for your role through the Scout Association Adult Training Scheme.


Click here for the current Woodbadge Training application form and associated information.  The District Training Managers continue to deliver the Getting Started modules – module 1, Essential Information, module 2, Personal Learning Plan and module 3, Tools for the Role (Section Leaders).  Day 1, which now consists of Module 5 Fundamentals of Scouting and Module 16 Introduction to Residential Experiences, has become essential before the continuation of Woodbadge training.


GCA (Management) Training

There is no GCA Training taking place until further notice.

Woodbadge Training - Overnight accommodation at Crawfordsburn

You can book to stay overnight at Crawfordsburn if you don't want to travel to Crawfordburn on the day of your training.

This publication supplements the Scout Association Adult Support Training Advisers Guide – October 2013 version. It provides local guidance for the Training Managers and Training Advisers in Northern Ireland and is the outcome of a series of workshops and meetings on such topics as the role of the Training Adviser, Validation of Learning, Minimum Standards for Module Validation and the documentation necessary for the Learner to gain the award of the Woodbadge.

It contains copies of supporting documentation (as appendices) for the award of the Woodbadge and details of links to appropriate sites in the Scout Association’s website.
